A Millennial may know a thing or two. I got this email the other day from one of Coach Giani’s first students. Timely advice from a six figure earner. I speak with people everyday who complain that coaching doesn’t work, programs are scams, or you can’t get rich online. Now some of this may be true. But the other side of the story is that people quit. They don’t focus on winning. Furthermore, if they don’t succeed right away they hop on the next shiny object. Read this email that Sebastian sent out to his list. There is some practical advice here:
Hey Sebastian here,
In today’s email I want to talk to you about being patient with yourself and your business. Lately I’ve received many emails from people feeling down and unhappy because they haven’t made their online business work. People ready to quit for good. But after learning a bit more regarding when they got started or how much time they work daily on their businesses, I notice that most people got started only a few months back.
The reason I’m writing to you about this topic today, is because even if you see people quickly change their lives with their business in a couple of months, this doesn’t mean that’s how it will work out for you. It took me 1 year to make my first 1 sale! Before that I literally didn’t make any money. But these days I get people complaining about not having results 3 months after they got started with their business.
Imagine if it was as easy as putting 3 months of work to change your life… Absolutely everyone would go for it and become millionaires. Even if you see people in Facebook, Youtube or Instagram showing how they made $100,000 their first month, you should not consider these realistic results if you’re just getting familiar with how online monetization works.
Is it possible? Absolutely. But it’s not realistic to think that in a couple of months you will have the life of your dreams and be financially independent.
The real problem is that most people only get motivated when they get started with their business. I’m talking about the initial stages, where you get all pumped about starting your business. You look for partners, you get the capital, you create the company… Everything is so exciting… But what happens when sh*t hits the fan? Are you mentally prepared to embrace it?
Most people only get motivated in 2 stages:
#1: When they’re getting started with their business
#2: When they’re making money with their business
But these 2 stages are not the most frequent ones.
Realistically, when you’re starting out, most of the journey goes upside. You’re just learning how all the business works, you’re still mastering your skill sets, you’re going through all the technical obstacles…You have to be mentally prepared to lose money, get frustrated and not see results. You have to be mentally prepared to fail.
Building a business is not about following a 3 step system. It’s about a journey where you fail so many times that you eventually figure out what works and then you get familiar with the daily actions that put money in your bank account.
See where I’m going? You have to find a way to stay motivated when things don’t go your way. You have to understand that it’s not easy and that in order to change your life you will have to put years of work. Just because you’ve experienced 3 months of failure, doesn’t mean that you will fail in life.
Remember, it took me 1 full year to generate my first sale. A $49 sale. I’m 100% sure you’re capable of building the business you always wanted. You just have to focus and see the long term benefits. Going through the struggles is part of the process. That’s what really shapes you as an entrepreneur and helps you build a solid mindset. Even if you go through a lot of struggles and you feel frustrated many times, you have to remember it’s normal and that everything you’re doing will eventually pay off.
